Hauppauge, NY – August 2012 – Eyewear industry leader ClearVision Optical recently participated in Camp Day at Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center’s Camp Kehilla as part of the internship program’s philanthropic outreach.

For the 3rd consecutive year, ClearVision’s summer interns participated in this day of fun and festivities. Camp Kehilla, located at the Henry Kaufman campgrounds in Wheatley Heights, NY, provides social/recreational camping activities for high functioning children and teens with special needs and disorders, and other developmental disabilities.

“We find that Camp Kehilla is the highlight for many of our summer interns,” said Jennifer Trakhtenberg, ClearVision’s Senior Talent Leader. “They’re able to take the skills they learn in the office, such as flexibility, creativity, and leadership, and use them to mentor the younger generation. The day also exemplifies the CV Way – having a positive impact on our community and making each day better for someone else. We were thrilled to return to Camp Kehilla again this summer.”

The interns prepared and facilitated all of the activities for the young campers, which included a water balloon toss, a mummy wrap, relay race games, and bubbles galore.

A considerable part of ClearVision’s year-round intern program is to support the company’s philanthropic outreach. Initiatives include volunteering for ClearVision’s annual Healthy Snack Sale and Employee Garage Sale, which have helped raise over $1,100 for The Harry Chapin Food Bank/ Long Island Cares, Inc., this year. Interns also created a food basket that was donated to LI Cares during the Thanksgiving season.
